Dear Friends & Supporters of the Zimbabwe Pensioner Support Fund,
Its finally here, the long awaited June trip report (Especially late with me being on leave the past 3 weeks for my sons 18th). Although it was a dash of a working holiday, I am busy catching everything up and your patience is greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy the read I can’t believe how time is flying by, we are now busy with our 4th trip for the year. Hannes has been on leave the past week and is also back in the office on Monday. From there it is everyone to the grindstone. We have a large amount of stock that needs to be moved up to Bulawayo as well as our August 2017 trip. We are also now officially SADC registered which should also make things slightly cheaper and more efficient.
This past winter has been exceptionally hard on our “Golden Oldies” and many of them have passed. To their friends and family please accept our sincere condolences.
Daniels Words of Thanks ending his trip report “I am involved with the Zimbabwean Pensioners Support Fund because I get to see all YOUR contributions in action. I get to hand over your donations of food. I get to see the tears of gratitude that these Pensioners shed. The tears that I shed are yours. I hear their stories first hand. I experience their love and I feel it on your behalf. The warmth of their hugs and kisses are YOURS. I gratefully accept them and revel in them on your behalf. Wherever you are in the world dearest donors, please know that these people are in greatly touched by your donations, your love and your kindness. They know too well that they couldn’t have made it through the horrors of the past many years without you. Each one of you is their beacon of hope. What a very fine privilege for me to be a small part of this mass of goodness.
God bless you all.
A Big thank you to Daniel for being able to assist us with the June trip.
Your donations are important to the survival of our wonderful Golden Oldies. Our elderly pensioners are very proud and are not looking for sympathy, however they greatly appreciate any and all assistance we are able to supply them with. They do not have any means of conveying their gratitude to all of you our supporters, but convey their thanks to us on the ground (Via letters and words of thanks which are often published for you to see) and are often reduced to tears when given a box of very basic foodstuffs with their name on the box, so that they know that box was packed for them . As we have said before, our trips to Zimbabwe to help our Golden Oldies are always emotional ones.
We welcome anyone who wishes to come and see our warehouse in Malelane and what we do. We are always on the lookout for volunteers to travel with us, get the hands on experience, grind the mill and get excited enough to promote our efforts. It is not good to travel these distances alone but the need is greater than the risk. Please avail yourselves and come along. It’s not a picnic or a holiday but you do have fun. We are also in desperate need of volunteer drivers for the trucks. Need a Code 14 license and valid PDP (Public Drivers Permit).
We are currently supporting just over 1450 pensioners in 28 homes / organizations. We also support SOAP (Support Old Age Pensioners) in Bulawayo and have helped to set up a system similar to SOAP in Gweru, Zvishavane, Masvingo, Red Cliff, Kwe Kwe and Kadoma to cater for pensioners that are not in old age homes as well. We are an officially registered Non-Profit Organization and Section 21A in South Africa and are registered with SARS as a Public Benefit Organization in terms of section 18A the Income Tax Act (Which means donations in South Africa can be issued with a Tax Certificate and can be claimed back).
Please if I can once again ask who requires Section 18A Tax Certificates (South Africa for March 2016-FEB 2017) as I am finished sending them for everyone that requested one. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY FOR RSA DONORS. This is the last call. After this I need to submit my paper work as a Section 18A to SARS.
Please Note for a Tax Certificate I require the following:
This just makes sure we are 100% in line with SARS.

“It's also selfish because it makes you feel good when you help others. I've been helped by acts of kindness from strangers. That's why we're here, after all, to help others.”
